Legacy Commission

Our Legacy Commission is Josephine & Co.’s most bespoke offering, created for wedding gowns, fragile or vintage textiles, extensive patchwork, intricate garment details, and exceptionally complex designs.

Every commission is individually conceived around the history, condition, and distinctive character of the textiles entrusted to us. Lace, embroidery, beadwork, pleating, buttons, meaningful prints, and other recognizable details may be carefully preserved and incorporated wherever they best serve the finished design.

Each piece includes a personal design consultation, detailed textile review, custom composition, appropriate stabilization, full lining, professionally finished seams, a hidden zipper, and specialty hand-finishing as required.

The result is a one-of-one textile heirloom designed not simply to preserve the material, but to honor the story it carries.

Square pillows range from 12" × 12" to 20" × 20", and rectangle pillows from 12" × 16" to 14" × 20". Final size and design are determined by the garments received and the usable material available.

A coordinating pillow form is included, so your heirloom arrives beautifully packaged, fully finished, and ready to be hugged.  Premium inserts available.

Complimentary shipping is included on all orders within the continental United States.

Next Steps

1. Check Your Email — After placing your order, you will receive a confirmation email with detailed instructions on how to package and ship your garments or textiles to us - check your SPAM folder if you do not see the email shortly after checkout. Please follow these instructions carefully, as many items entrusted to us are irreplaceable. 
2. Tell us about your project, fabrics, and vision — Respond back to the email letting us know: Whose materials are being submitted/Name of your loved one? Type of garments/fabrics/textiles included. Design preferences such as pillow size, visible details, patchwork or straightforward styling.
3. Send Your Garments — Carefully package and ship your clothing or textiles to us using the address provided in your email. Items should be cleaned according to manufacturer instructions prior to sending.
4. Design Review — Once your textiles are received, we will complete a thorough design review. We will contact you with any questions and walk you through the final design plan before production begins.
5. Creation & Delivery — Your keepsake is thoughtfully planned, sewn, and finished by hand, then beautifully packaged and shipped back to you.

We understand that the garments you send often represent memories that cannot be replaced. Every stitch is completed with care, intention, and respect for the story behind it.

A Note on Handcrafted Quality:  Every Josephine & Co. piece is handcrafted from deeply personal materials. Variations, subtle imperfections, and unique characteristics are part of the heirloom nature of the finished piece and reflect the story carried within the original materials.
